How God Wants us to Speak

How God Wants us to Speak

One of the biggest things that can hold a Christian back is their mouth. James 3:8 says, “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”

Think about it—when we talk to people, are we building them up, or are we tearing them down? Are our words drawing them closer to the Lord, or pushing them away? Are we speaking with a prideful spirit, thinking we’re better than them? Or are we showing kindness and love?

Remember, God loved you at your lowest—through your struggles, your shame, and your toughest moments. Shouldn't we extend that same love to others?

Jesus said this in Mark 12:

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

Loving God and loving others—these are the commandments that fulfill the law. Jesus also asked, How can you love me but hate your brother?

So as you go through your day, be mindful of your words. Don’t let what you say destroy someone—be kind, be forgiving, just as the Lord has been with you. Don’t let your words push someone away from God. The devil will try to plant thoughts in your mind meant to harm others, even fellow Christians. Stay in the Spirit, and don’t let him control what’s in your heart or what comes out of your mouth.

Hope this helps! God bless!
